Risk 1: Uncertainty in Renters’ Rights Act

Changes to UK rental regulations, particularly the Renters’ Rights Act, may affect property listing processes, tenant communication, and platform compliance.

How are we mitigating this?

Regulatory Monitoring

  • Track UK Government housing policy updates.

  • Follow industry consultations and guidance.

Industry Engagement

  • Monitor insights from landlord and property associations.

  • Stay connected with sector professionals.

Platform Flexibility

  • Design adaptable features to meet regulatory changes.

  • Update policies and workflows quickly.

  • Can change from viewing for rentals to viewing for sales.

Risk 2: Lack of Trust from Renters & Agents

As a new platform, Domo may face initial hesitation from renters and letting agents due to limited brand recognition and credibility.

How are we mitigating this?

Building Credibility

  • Partner with smaller agencies first (see GTM strategy in business strategy page).

  • Showcase early user testimonials and case studies.

  • Use word of mouth/referrals.

User Experience

  • Provide a simple and transparent platform.

  • Clear ToS and privacy policies.

  • Offer fast, high quality customer support.

Risk 3: CRM Companies May Not Partner

If major property CRM providers are unwilling to integrate with Domo, adoption by letting agents may be slower. Domo may also face pushback as we are not able to integrate with existing workflow & tools real estate agents are used to.

How are we mitigating this?

Independent Access

  • Allow agents to use Domo without full CRM integration.

  • Output leads in other format. (E.g. CSV to be used with Excel or emails).

Long term pressure

  • Ask partner agencies to ask their CRM to allow Domo to integrate. CRM companies have an interest to listen to their customers (agencies).

Risk 4: Seasonal Rental Demand

Rental demand fluctuates throughout the year, potentially causing periods of lower platform activity. This could be a problem for our cashflows and also our customers.

How are we mitigating this?

Diversified Users

  • Expand across different property segments.

  • Expand to different services in the long run. (Rental + sales)

Seasonal Marketing

  • Increase campaigns during peak rental periods.

  • Adjust marketing message throughout the year.

Platform Flexibility

  • Offer alerts, saved searches, and market insights.

  • Change business model to charge agencies regardless of market performance. (link)

Risk 5: Data Leakage & Cybersecurity Threats

As a platform handling sensitive personal and financial data — including tenant details, agent information, and viewing schedules — Domo is exposed to data breaches, unauthorised access, or cyberattacks.

How are we mitigating this?

Data Protection & Compliance

  • Ensure full compliance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

  • Conduct regular data audits and privacy impact assessments.

Technical Safeguards

  • Encrypt all data in transit and at rest.

  • Implement multi-factor authentication (MFA) for agent and admin accounts.

  • Use secure cloud infrastructure with regular penetration testing.

Incident Responss

  • Maintain a documented data breach response plan.

  • Report breaches to the ICO within the required 72-hour window.

  • Notify affected users promptly and transparently.
